Looks like the era of netbooks is officially over. Acer and Asus has decided that they are no longer going to manufacture netbooks this year.

All the other companies have already stopped manufacturing similarly. These two companies were the biggest benefactor of this segment though Apple crashed their party with the iPad.

Tablet PC market has literally killed the netbook market as more consumers are going for them than low end netbooks with small displays.

The PC market on the whole is also getting affected by these cheaper and portable computing devices.
