200 sms limit canceled by TDSAT

Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal has ordered the cancelation of 200 sms per day limit imposed by the government regulations in India.

This comes just after a similar ruling by the Delhi High Court.

This ruling by TDSAT was in response to a petition filed by Yuva Sena president Aditya Thackeray.

The limits were implemented by TRAI to stop promotional sms spam which has become a nuisance for the mobile users in the country.

Remains to be seen if this regulation ends up benefitting the common man and not the telemarketing companies.
