Indian government has given its approval to the second generation Aakash tablet. It is now scheduled to be launched on November 11 by the President of India Pranab Mukherjee.
He would be addressing around 20,000 students from around the country on that day all of whom are expected to get a unit of this Tablet PC.
The new model comes loaded with a 1GHz processor. It features a capacitive touchscreen display which is a major improvement from the previous model. It is expected to have a battery life of around four hours. And it would come loaded with Android Ice Cream Sandwich edition.
Indian government has high hopes from this new generation budget segment tablet which would be sold to students at a subsidized price.
