We already know that Infotel Broadband has asked permission from the government to test and possibly launch voice over their upcoming 4G LTE network.
Now, airtel is also seeking the same. The company has been testing the ability to enable voice services using their 2G/3G network while delivering data on 4G.
But getting the permissions to deliver voice over 4G LTE would make the process simpler for them.
Infotel is reportedly considering offering voice services through VoLTE technology which would be similar to Skype and other platforms.
It remains to be seen if India would eventually get 4G networks with voice support.
