Airtel has become the first telecom company to launch 4G LTE services in the Indian market.

The company has launched their 4G network in the city of Kolkata. It is coming to Bengaluru in the near future.

The packages are as expected disappointing. You have three options:

Rs. 999 for 6GB
Rs. 1399 for 9GB
Rs. 1999 for 18GB

Add taxes and you are looking at around Rs. 186 per GB of data transfer.

All of these three packages drop down to 128kbps after the limits are reached. Airtel is promising up to 40mbps speed on this network though real world speeds are likely to be much lower.
