Amazon has revealed that they would charge a one-time fee of USD 15 to remove the ads from their Kindle Fire HD Tablets.

They are subsidizing these devices as they come preloaded with Special Offers which were made popular by similar variants of the Kindle eBook Readers.

The ads would appear on the lock screen and through a dedicated section on the device.

The company said:

We know from our Kindle reader line that customers love our special offers and very few people choose to opt out. We’re happy to offer customers the choice.
