Amazon Junglee launches in India as a product search engine
Amazon has launched their Indian venture with the opening of Junglee.com portal.
Junglee.com is not an online store. The company has partnered with existing players in the Indian market to provide a shopping search engine.
Basically, you can search for your choice of product on Junglee.com and compare prices on different stores and make a decision. Amazon is including products from their international stores which offers delivery to India. Amazon Kindle for example is available for purchase through Amazon Fulfillment Services.
Amazon is not involved in the purchasing and delivery process. They are just offering their platform as an advertising and product listing portal.
We checked it out. They are missing some of the bigger names in the Indian market. We imagine online stores like Flipkart are likely to stay away from them. The service itself is fast and provides a good user experience.
The problem is of course reliability of third party stores which might end up offering a crappier customer experience.
