Amazon has invited media to an event scheduled for September 6. There have been no details but it is clear that we are going to see the second generation Amazon Kindle Fire tablet.

Amazon Kindle Fire sales have taken a big hit after Google launched their Nexus 7 Tablet.

Google Nexus 7 offers better hardware at similar prices. Amazon still has an advantage when it comes to content offerings.

The second generation Kindle Fire should overcome the hardware challenge. Remains to be seen how it would fare against the Nexus 7.

If the rumors are true, Apple might launch a smaller version of their iPad later this year which could really change the entire ecosystem in this segment of the market.
