Amazon and Microsoft have yet to confirm it but Eliane Fiolet at UberGizmo has stated that the unit he played around with had Bing as the default search engine on the Silk browser on the new tablet Amazon announced earlier this week.

Amazon Kindle Fire had Google as the default search engine so looks like Amazon signed on a deal with Microsoft for the switch.

This is another way Amazon is responding to the threat from the Google Play ecosystem. They are using the Android platform as the base without giving back anything to Google!
