Amazon has launched Indian edition of their Kindle Store.
Kindle owners in India can now purchase books in their native currency INR.
Amazon is already officially selling their Kindle branded eBook Readers in India through their Junglee branded product search engine.
It is good to see that Indian users can now officially use the Kindle Store to purchase eBooks.
Update: There is one big problem with this update. Amazon is charging the exact same for the eBooks. Essentially they are just converting the dollar amount to rupees. This really does not work well for Indian consumers. We do not pay 99 cents converted into INR for songs on our music stores for example.
