American Booksellers Association ditching Google for Kobo

Kobo has announced a deal with American Booksellers Association. They would now sell their eBook readers along with eBooks for them through independent booksellers in the US market.

This deal comes into effect from October this year. ABA already has a similar deal with Google which ends in January next year. ABA said that the deal with Google for their Google Books project was not very fruitful.

ABA expect that most of their members would slowly migrate their own offerings from Google powered platform to Kobo.

Kobo added:

Every independent can easily order Kobo devices at no risk and start offering them to their customers, and with that sell mobile content.
