Apple recently launched their new laptop range featuring the retina display. We are now hearing reports that they could update their iMac range of desktops before the holiday season as well.

Surprisingly, the rumor mill is rather quiet about the possible updates to the iMac. Analysts believe Apple could bundle retina displays on the new generation of iMac. It would be interesting though considering iMac have displays much larger than the MacBook Pro. Apple discontinued the 17” model focusing on the 15” model alone.

We assume that the company would at least boost the internals of the iMac if they are not yet ready with the tech required to manufacture larger displays with retina quality resolution. retina of course is just a buzzword. Generic term is HiDPI displays.
