The New York Times has reported that Apple is considering making a strategic investment in Twitter.
Apple has their own social network named Ping which has been a complete failure. Ping does not have a web edition as it is part of their iTunes desktop application.
Apple already has Twitter deeply integrated in their OS X platform. But this is similar to integration with other networks like Flickr and Facebook.
Sources say that the investment could be in hundreds of millions of dollars that can put the value of Twitter at around USD 10 billion.
