Apple iPad 3 likely to support LTE on Verizon and AT&T
Wall Street Journal has reported that the next iPad from Apple would feature support for LTE networks offered by AT&T and Verizon in the US market.
It is not clear if Sprint’s LTE network would be supported as well.
The report said that the iPad would also support slower networks in areas where LTE coverage is bad or not available.
This means that the company might have to switch back to different models for different carriers because there are simply too many radios that are going to be involved now.
Apple currently has a single model of iPad which works on both CDMA and GSM networks. Though it is not easy to switch between the two once you have made your choice at the time of purchase.
