App.net founder Dalton Caldwell has revealed in separate posts that App.net is now catering to more than 17500 users. All of these users have of course paid to back/join the service platform.
Caldwell also revealed that the service has now seen more than 250,000 posts made by its users. This is pretty impressive for a paid platform that is still in alpha.
He further said that around 50% of the posts appear to be made using third party clients which is a good sign that the third party app ecosystem is building up nicely.
App.net was originally founded with the idea of providing a platform similar to Twitter but free of advertising. They are also focused to make it an attractive platform for developers to build on.
