AT&T unlimited mobile data plans might now have a fair usage policy of just 2GB!
AT&T no longer offer unlimited mobile data plans. But the customers who had these plans before they were discontinued retained the option to stay connected to these plans.
The company recently announced that they are going to throttle unlimited users. AT&T had indicated that the throttling would only affect the top 5% of the data users on their network.
Online sources indicated that this provided for a pretty decent limit of 10-12GB in most areas.
However, in some areas, this virtual limit seems to have fallen down to 2GB. This means that the mobile internet speeds are getting throttled after just 2GB of usage per month.
This is pretty stupid on AT&T’s part considering they are offering a 3GB package for the same price (USD 30) that unlimited plan users are paying them! As usual, Apple iPhone users are going to be badly affected by this move.
