BlackBerry App World 3.1 comes with a bunch of new features

Research in Motion has released a new version of BlackBerry App World.

BlackBerry App World 3.1 comes with a couple of new useful features:

1. You can ask any of your BBM contact to gift you a paid app that you have been looking for. They get the choice to buy the app for you. They can decline the offer. This is something I would personally love to see on the Google Android Market. It would come handy in times when you want to gift an app to your friend. You can just reverse the process by asking your friend to request for it!

2. BlackBerry App World 3.1 also adds content rating and filtering which is an essential feature to have to control the type of apps you want to search for. You can search from multiple criteria: Adult, Mature, Teen and General.
3. You can now ask the app to download apps and updates only when the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network. This comes handy for users who pay heavily for cellular data transfers.
