Tata to return back land in Singur
West Bengal commerce and industry minister Nirupam Sen has confirmed now that Tata has agreed to return back the land they were allotted in Singur, West Bengal.
Tata were setting up a manufacturing plant for their small car Nano on that land.
The project was canceled due to political protests and Tata moved their project from West Bengal to Gujarat.
Sen said: “The Tatas have no objection to return the land if there is a meaningful negotiation.”
That land could now be allotted to railways who want to set up a coach factory at that location.
