How to change the location of Google Drive folder?
Google seems to have ignored this feature in the first release of the desktop app at least on the Windows platform.
The process seems to be very complicated right now. You would have to disconnect your account. Reconnect your account and go through the setup process once again and pick a new location for the Google Drive folder.
You would also have to sync everything again as Google would not accept existing files that you might want to copy to this new folder.
Hopefully Google would add this feature to the Drive desktop app in the near future.
If anyone found a simpler/faster method, please tell us about it!
Thanks for posting. Thought I was the only one who accidently put my Drive folder in the wrong location. Ah - that’s what you get for female clicking (if nothing seems to happen except for an hourglass, just click again. and again. and again.) Ooops. Well, I know what to do, thanks again!
Stupidity!
I carefully chose C:\data\Gdrive to be the location of the Gdrive files, but the stupid installation decided to instead make it C:\data\Grive\Google Drive, without telling me!
Will not seriously use my only minutes old Google Drive until this is fixed.
Well the thing is that Google requires the folder name to be Google Drive. And i doubt they are going to change that in the near future. :)
