General Motors has started production of their next model aimed at the Indian market.

Chevrolet Sail is likely to go on sale sometime next month.

This is a special model for the company as it was originally developed by their partner SAIC Motor Corporation Limited for the Chinese market.

Sail is already one of the bestselling cars in China and GM is hoping that it would do well here in India as well.

Chevrolet Sail is expected to be offered in both hatch and sedan versions with both petrol and diesel engine options.
