Amazon has collaborated with Chroma to sell their Kindle eBook Readers in the Indian market.

The company already sells them through their American online store. Retail store presence would enable consumers to get it quicker. They would also be able to check the devices in person at these stores.

Amazon spoke at the launch:

We are proud to launch this new Kindle store for Indian customers - offering Kindle book purchases in rupees and the ability to buy and read the work of many great Indian authors

Amazon has also launched their Kindle Store in India. Consumers can buy the books with INR pricing. Though the prices seems to be direct conversion from the USD price tag so it does not really change anything.

The company further said that Kindle Direct Publishing is now available to writers in India. Writers can now use the Amazon platform to digitally publish their books and sell it through their store.
