Datawind is the company behind the ultra-low cost Aakash Tablet PC that is finally on sale in the Indian market.

The company is providing subsidized units to students with support from the Indian government.

And they are also now selling the retail version through their own website.

The company has claimed that they have received orders for more than 14 lakh units and the device is sold out for several months at the moment.

Datawind said:

The current response is overwhelming. We plan to produce 75,000 units per factory per month from around April.
