Boxopus made news recently for offering an interesting service. It allow users to download torrents directly to their Dropbox account.
Dropbox has now blocked Boxopus from accessing their platform for storing files.
The reason is simple. Dropbox do not want Boxopus to store files that might be violating copyrights. It is a well-known fact that the bittorrent platform is generally used for downloading pirated movies and music.
Dropbox is in a tight spot here. Users of their platform should be allowed to do whatsoever they want to do with their accounts. Dropbox on the other hand cannot allow their services to be used for copyright violation. Megaupload was targeted for similar reasons.
