Dropbox website now support drag and drop functionality in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari

Dropbox has updated their web app to support drag and drop functionality for file uploads.

This feature is however browser dependent and should work in recent versions of Google Chrome, Apple Safari and Mozilla Firefox.

Dropbox spoke about this update:

After Dropbox detects the upload, it’ll work its magic to get your stuff wherever you need it. This is just a small step toward giving you a simpler (and more fun!) dropbox.com.
