eBay Now offering same day deliveries in San Francisco

eBay has launched a new service for consumers in San Francisco. They can join the beta testing of a new service named eBay Now that promises same day delivery on certain products.

The service is available through a mobile app for the Apple iOS devices.

A company representative said:

I wouldn’t say we’re trying to use stores as warehouses. As you know, on ebay.com/local, RedLaser, and Milo, we send people from the Web/mobile phones and into stores to buy. eBay Now is our way of making local shopping more convenient and easier than ever before. It gives shoppers choice and another option for local.

Amazon and Google are two other companies that are said to be working on a similar shipping platform for retailers working with them.
