Google and Apple are both said to be interested in bidding for the English Premier League TV rights.
These rights would be for broadcasting on their own platforms. Apple has Apple TV and iOS devices. Google of course has their own Google TV platform and Android devices.
Both of these companies probably do not want to rely on third party service providers to support their individual platforms.
It is not clear whether the focus of these rights would be in the US market or the European market.
Both of them would benefit massively if they can get the rights for broadcasting in European countries.
