Facebook for Android adds a dedicated photo sharing shortcut
Facebook recently acquired Instagram. And they have just updated their Android app.
This update is pretty interesting as it adds on a camera icon to the user’s phone. This icon can be used to quickly take a photo and share it on your user feed.
This is pretty similar to how photo sharing apps like Instagram works and we wonder what took Facebook so long to add this functionality to their own app. There are no image filters right now so you would still need a different app to use them.
It is also surprising that the company is now adding to the competition to Instagram which they now own!
The updated all also adds a messages app to the phone. This means that you can probably get rid of the separate mobile app from the company Messenger.
The company highlighted the other changes:
Improved performance and various bug fixes
More messaging features like creating group messages and adding friends to existing group conversations
