Yet another Facebook experiment that could drive you crazy. The company is testing notification sounds on their web app for some users.

The website would play a sound whenever there is a new notification. Thankfully, you can disable it but again it is an opt-out setting.

Of course, there are going to be users who would love to have audible notifications on their computers. But the good thing would be to make it optional. Alert users about this new feature on login and let them set it up themselves.
