Online sources are reporting about a brand new Facebook app for the Android platform.

Facebook on Android has been a major disappointment. The app does not offer all the features of the Facebook platform.

It is pretty dumb when compared to the official Facebook app for the Apple iOS platform. In fact, the mobile web version of Facebook.com works much better in the Android’s browser.

The new app seems to be a total overhaul of the Android app. the user interface is similar to the Apple iOS app.

Reports further said that the app adds a new app named Nearby in the Android apps list which could be a direct link to the Facebook Places section on the service platform.

It is not clear whether Facebook Messenger would also be a part of this parent app. it is currently available as a separate download.
