Facebook has finally launched their first desktop app for the Windows platform.

Messenger for Windows is now available as a free download from the Facebook website.

This is a very dumbed down edition of their mobile app. you can see your latest notifications, and chat with your Facebook friends.

The app is not very useful currently unless you are a very heavy user of Facebook and wants to stay updated all the freaking time.
