Facebook to allow targeted ads based on advertiser’s own database

Facebook has confirmed that they are in the process of rolling out a new update that would allow advertisers to upload their own user database for targeting purposes.

The idea is to let companies make use of their own database of consumer information like phone numbers and email ids.

This data would be hashed before uploading to Facebook servers so that the company does not get access to it.
