Facebook has confirmed that they are currently testing a subscribe feature for Pages on their social networking platform.

Subscribe would essentially work like the Like functionality. The difference is that the subscribed Pages would not appear in Like section of the user’s profile.

This has been made essential because users do not necessarily have to like brands they had like to follow for updates.

Subscribe would let them get updates without publicly stating that they like them.

The company said:

We are currently testing the ability to subscribe to Pages with a small group. This feature allows people to receive updates from Pages without liking the Page. We have no further details to share at this time.
