Foursquare is rolling out a new feature on their website.

You can now individually pick friends whose activities are always sent as notifications on your smartphone.

Foursquare usually alerts you about updates from friends who are nearby to your location.

This does not work well in case a family member or a close friend is traveling out of town or country.

The company said:

To make sure you always get check-in notifications from close friends, just go to their profiles on foursquare.com and select “Always On” from the drop down menu.
