Go Daddy continues to suffer because of the Anti-SOPA movement on the web.

Thousands of domains have been moved away from their network to competing services.

Go Daddy: We are now strongly in opposition of SOPA

The company was originally one of the leading supporters of SOPA. They later said that they are taking back their support.

And now Go Daddy states that they are going to oppose SOPA.

Go Daddy CEO Warren Adelman made this statement:

We have observed a spike in domain name transfers, which are running above normal rates and which we attribute to GoDaddy’s prior support for SOPA, which was reversed. Go Daddy opposes SOPA because the legislation has not fulfilled its basic requirement to build a consensus among stake-holders in the technology and Internet communities. Our company regrets the loss of any of our customers, who remain our highest priority, and we hope to repair those relationships and win back their business over time.

We doubt that the company is going to get back the lost business in the near future. Most users renew domains once a year and every domain that was transferred was renewed for an additional year. They would now have to rethink their strategy to attract new customers.
