Google Android apps set to get a privacy policy review screen

Google has posted that they are now allowing developers of Android apps to submit privacy policies applicable on their individual apps.

These policies would be shown to users for review before they are able to download the apps on their phones in the future.

Developers can ignore this new field in their dev consoles for now. But they recommend filling it out properly to ensure that users can get the relevant information without hunting it on their website.

Google said:

You will need to determine what makes the most sense for your app and your users. The privacy policy field is an additional tool that will allow users to better evaluate the apps they wish to download.
