Google+ Local: Google Plus becomes the base for Google Places!

Google Plus becomes the base for Google Places!

Google has rolled out a major update on their Google+ platform which should boost the user interactivity. They have literally migrated Google Places to Google+.

Google Plus users now get a new option in the sidebar. Google calls it Google+ Local.

Every business listed in Google Places now gets its own page in Google+. Businesses can claim their existing pages. Users can check out the information and post their reviews.

These pages are being indexed by the Google spiders. Businesses can simply no longer afford to ignore Google Plus! They retain the option to manage these pages through the Google Places for Business backend.

Google has also integrated ratings from Zagat on this new platform.

This is an exciting update which massively boosts the usability and capabilities of the Google Places platform.
