Google Chrome is closing in on Internet Explorer

If we are to believe the reports released by StatCounter, Google Chrome is pretty close to overtaking Internet Explorer globally.

It has already overtaken it in several countries. Globally, the market share is getting very interesting now.

Internet Explorer has a market share of 34% compared to 31.2% for Chrome. This data is for the first 22 days of this month. Firefox is third at 25% market share.

If we look at individual versions, Chrome 18 is currently the most popular web browser globally with a market share of 25.6%. Firefox 11 is second with 15.8% of the market. Internet Explorer 9 thankfully is at the third spot.
