Google and partners have dropped the prices of their Chromebooks model.
The cheapest model is now available at USD 300. Previously, the cheapest model was priced at around USD 350 so this is not a major drop.
But this is a good indication that Acer and Samsung wants to clear up their remaining stock of the Chromebooks during the holiday season and maybe we would finally see updated models with better hardware specifications.
Google continues to update the Chrome OS powering these netbooks. Updates are delivered on a regular basis adding new features and improving existing ones. But the fact remains Chromebooks are too pricey currently for the hardware they offer and Google needs to bring the prices down significantly before they become a mass seller.
