When Google launched Communities on their Google+ platform, the company kept public posts inside communities visible on user profile pages.

Users did not like it as it cluttered their own public streams with content that were targeted at specific communities and not public.

Google has now rolled out an update and you can now disable this feature.

Google clarified that posts made in private communities would still be visible only to people who are also part of the same community.
