Google said that they have collaborated with more than 150 media partners to bring around 180 publications to this new platform. Current partners include CNET, AllThingsD, Forbes, Saveur, PBS, Huffington Post, Fast Company and more.

Users are also free to add their own content sources using RSS feeds. Google Currents also support public Google+ streams and Google Reader subscriptions.

Google has also launched a self-serve publishing platform that can be used by newspapers and magazines if they want to offer a customized experience to the users of Google Currents.

The app is compatible with both smartphones and Tablet PCs. We are just baffled that they are not offering it outside the US market right now.
