This has been one of the biggest annoyance of using Google Search. The company saved the search settings in the browser itself using cookies. This meant that you had to change the settings on different browsers on the same machine.
This also meant that all your Google search settings were lost when you reinstalled your machine or cleared your cookies. They were also not accessible on other machines even when you are logged into your account.
This changes now. Google has confirmed that they are now saving the search settings data on the user’s Google account. This means that the search settings would now be consistent across all browsers in all the machines as long as the user is logged in.

Now you can save your search settings, such as your language preference or having Google Instant on or off, to your Google Account, enabling you to search with your preferences wherever you’re logged in, even if you’re searching across different browsers or computers.
