Google seems to have rolled out another update on their Plus platform. This update is connected to posts that have location data added to it. It also applies on Check-ins on Latitude.

Google now shows a preview of the map based on the location data connected with the post. This is much better than before when Google just added a link to the location. Here is a snapshot:
