Google is entering the free Wi-Fi delivery service with the launch in select areas of New York City.
The company said that this network would be completely open and would not require any password.
The project would cost around USD 115000. Running costs per year would come to around USD 45000. Google would be paying for most of these costs. Rest would be handled by Chelsea Improvement.
Google and Chelsea Improvement are going to run this pilot project for two years at least.
Google said that they are not going to show special advertising to the users of this network. They would however see a message that Google is the provider of this service.
