Google Play Store might soon feature gifting capabilities!

Google Play Store might soon feature gifting capabilities!

Android Police has an interesting blog post that indicates that Google is nearing the launch of a gifting feature on their Google Play platform.

Google has lacked support for gifting on their entire network. You cannot gift paid storage to anyone for example.

Google Play definitely needs this capability to allow minors to buy apps on their Android based devices.

Right now, Google requires you to have a credit card connected to your account in most markets. Some markets have carrier billing support.

Gifting would allow parents to add credit to the accounts of their kids which can be used by them to buy apps or media content.

The blog post also talked about another new feature that might be part of the Google Play store. Users would be able to add items to their wish list. We imagine this would complement the gifting capability on the platform.
