Google reportedly ready to spend money to get global rights to sell music!

Online sources are reporting that Google has made an interesting offer to at least one major music label to get rights to sell their music globally.

The report said that the company is ready to pay USD 1 billion to get these rights.

Google Play is their digital media store though it currently offers music in very limited regions.

Even Apple does not have global rights to sell music on their iTunes store.

Google is a massively profitable company but paying USD 1 billion to one label is still pretty baffling. Apple can afford something like this easily considering the cash they are sitting on right now with no competition in sight. Google on the other hand is involved in tons of lawsuits which could cost it a lot of money in the coming years.
