Google signs a broad deal with European music labels for their Play Store

BusinessWeek has reported that Google has signed a broad deal with music labels in Europe for their Google Play Store.

Google gains access to 5.5 million soundtracks that they can offer in around 35 countries in the region.

This include popular music artists like Lady Gaga and Rihanna.

Reports say that Apple and Amazon currently have individual deals for different countries so Google got extremely lucky here with a unified deal.

It should boost their offerings from the Google Play Store which sell music along with music and television content.
