Google might be in talks to acquire Meebo

Online sources are reporting that Google is in talks to acquire Meebo.

This acquisition does not make much sense. Meebo offers an instant messaging platform largely though they also have a web based social sharing platform as well nowadays.

Google might be interested in the developers behind the company which would make it more of a talent acquisition.

Most of the recent deals signed up by Google have made little sense. They hired Kevin Rose which still baffles me of course.
