Google targeting web services offering YouTube videos to MP3 conversion

Google has started targeting web services which allow users to convert YouTube videos into downloadable MP3 files.

Google has sent legal notices asking multiple services to stop operating within a period of seven days or they are going to get sued.

These services are a problem for Google as they have deals with music labels for the music videos hosted on the YouTube platform. These services allow users to get access to the music portion of the video which is illegal as per the terms and condition of YouTube.

YouTube has also blocked access to servers used by these services to block the conversion process but this is something that can be overcome easily by these third party services.
