Gap now accepting Google Wallet in Bay Area Stores

Gap has announced that they are expanding support for Google Wallet mobile payment platform in over 65 stores located in the Bay Area.

The company said:

I don’t know about you, but I pretty much rely on my smartphone for everything these days – not just for calls, texts and emails, I use it for directions, social networking, and (of course) shopping. This is why I’m especially excited to share that today Gap Inc. is announcing that shoppers at more than 65 of our stores (including Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory Stores and Gap Outlet) across the Bay Area can now use Google Wallet to pay and save all with a single tap of your phone.

Gap has a special offer for customers who use Google Wallet to make payments at these stores:

Starting today through the end of February, Gap will offer 15% off your entire purchase when you use Google Wallet to shop at our Bay Area stores.

Google however is yet to expand support for Google Wallet to more Android based devices. It’s time that they expand the support to more devices that have NFC capabilities.
