Facebook is reportedly testing a new feature for educational institutions.

The program is named Groups at University.

The idea is to enable users to create groups that would be open to students in specific educational institutions.

Users with verified email addresses connected to the specific universities would be able to join and participate.

This could result in a broader launch in the future aimed at companies and other organizations.

Privacy has become a major problem with Facebook with users mixing personal and official activities using their primary account. Facebook does not allow users to create multiple IDs which make it painful for them to separate the two identities. This new feature might solve some of these problems.
